Saltwater Towing - $215 per year

This recreational membership covers the member nationwide for any boat they own, rent, or borrow with the below benefits:

• BoatUS pays 100% for open-water boat towing within 100 nautical miles of the responding towboat’s port of dispatch and will tow back to a port of choice within 25 nautical miles from the responding towboat’s port of dispatch.

  • Tows outside of the 100 nautical miles radius or if the destination exceeds the 25 nautical mile radius will have coverage capped by BoatUS at $3,000 and additional charges may be applicable due at the time of service to the Service Provider.

• BoatUS pays 100% for jump-starts, fuel, oil, or parts deliveries and covered soft ungroundings within 100 nautical miles of the responding towboat’s port of dispatch, excluding when the vessel is at a non-restricted location.

  • Jumpstarts at a non-restricted locations are only covered by BoatUS if the location is not where the vessel is normally kept and the covered vessel has not been there for more than 7 days.

• BoatUS pays 100% for a tow, for the purpose of repair, from a non-restricted location (dock-to-dock tows) to a dock, mooring, repair facility, or point of haul out within 25 nautical miles of the location where the vessel became disabled..

  • Tows from a non-restricted location within the first 30 days of membership purchase or when member is chartering, renting, or borrowing the disabled vessel is not covered by BoatUS.

Memberships go into effect midnight of the day of purchase. A BoatUS membership does not cover any vessel used for commercial purposes, pre-existing conditions, salvage or when the member is a guest onboard with the owner. A BoatUS membership is not and does not replace liability and hull insurance policies. The responding towboat’s port of dispatch may not always be the nearest to you, or may not be your intended destination.

A “non-restricted location” is defined as a dock, mooring, or anchorage where the covered vessel is regularly kept, or a dock, mooring or anchorage where the covered vessel can remain 24 or more hours.

A “salvage” means any activity undertaken to assist a vessel in peril including, but not limited to, any grounding that is not a Soft Grounding; assistance requiring pumps, divers, airbags or other special equipment or more than one vessel; or vessels abandoned, wrecked, beached, on fire, damaged by fire, taking on water, sinking, sunk, previously sunk, in the surf or surf line, or in any other state of peril; in each case as determined by the TowBoatUS Service Provider in its sole discretion.

Service areas vary depending on location and are subject to change. Channel Watch Marine Services Inc. is a third-party Licensed Towing Company / TowBoatUS Service Provider for BoatUS doing business as TowBoatUS Ventura.
